Trades test score: Bricklayer Level 3 – Merit (highest possible)

Moment worked on his family small-holding until he was given the opportunity to learn new skills with Build IT. He excelled as one of the best performing trainees on the Mikumbila project. So it was no surprise to our head trainer, Evans Bwalya, that he achieved the top grade in his TEVETA exam in October 2009.

Moment was subsequently employed by a roofing contractor and has been earning up to kw100,000 / day (£15). This is over five times the typical rate for day labourers. He is a shy, young man but clearly excited by his prospects

 Ndola is a large city on the Copperbelt, some two hours from Mikumbila. Moment has never been there.
