Build IT International works in partnership with trusts and foundations who help us to continue our work.

How we work with Trusts

Around 80% of Build IT International income is from other charities and grant making trusts and charitable foundations. We are very grateful for their support. Our approach is to do our research and submit an application only if we are sure we come within the trust’s areas of interest. That way we don’t waste anybody’s time. If possible we appreciate the opportunity to explain our work face to face.

On receiving a grant we make sure we understand the donor’s reporting requirements and strive to comply with them. We never take this support for granted. So that our donors can see exactly where their money has been spent we can provide video clips, photographs and written reports on 3 month, 6 month or annual basis; whatever suits you best.

Support our work

We are always looking for more trusts and foundations to support our work. We are particularly keen that grant makers understand and support our whole approach to working with poor communities in Africa – and not just individual projects.

Whilst 82% of our expenditure goes on our programme, we still need to secure unrestricted income to enable us to cover the less glamorous but essential costs involved in running Build IT International such as governance, fundraising and monitoring.

There are three reasons to get in touch with us:

• you represent a trust or foundation, and are interested in finding out more about our work please with a view to considering an application
• Perhaps your charitable foundation is supporting a building project that we might be able to assist with
• You know a grant making charity that you think should know about our work
