A gift in your will

By remembering Build IT in your will you can help make the world a fairer place for some of its poorest people. Legacy giving is simple and painless, and remember, a gift to Build IT in your will doesn’t attract inheritance tax, which may save tax your executors would otherwise have to pay.

How we will spend your gift

We need to raise £227,000 this year (2008 – 2009) to meet our programme needs.

  • £25 helps cover the cost of a days training in sustainable construction methods.
  • £40 buys two roof tile moulds
  • £100 covers basic business skills support for a local builder.
  • £400 covers a two latrine unit for a household in a poor compound in Lusaka
  • £1,000 buys a hand operated machine to press quality bricks
  • £3,500 will pay for a tile-making machine with all accessories shipped to Zambia
  • £4,600 covers all costs associated with training 15 people at a project over 3 months
  • £5,400 ‘Cool House’ for a school teacher
  • £14,650 for one new ‘Cool’ classroom (excluding charity management costs)
  • £42,800 covers all costs to build a new two-classroom school + house + training
  • £240,000 pays for all our community building work over a full year – providing new facilities for FIVE poor communities and all support services
