We believe that our approach to community building projects not only delivers a quality building but also adds value. So, perhaps we can help you to deliver added benefits to your capital projects.
That way you can be sure that you are not just delivering a building but also skills for life, whilst at the same time freeing up your organization’s time to focus on your core activities, perhaps health, shelter or education.
Here are some examples of the work we have done with other organizations:
In early 2009 COINS foundation asked Build IT International to help them with a project in Kawama, a poor compound on the Copperbelt in Zambia. COINS wished to upgrade the local community school by building 2 new classrooms, an office and community resource centre. Work began in July 2009 and is on target to finish in April 2010. Contracting Build IT International to manage the project not only ensures that the community receives the infrastructure it needs but that 17 locals have been trained in building skills. In addition, the management of COINS foundation and their local partner have been able to focus on delivering the rest of their programme whilst knowing that the job will be delivered on time, on budget and to an exceptionally high quality.
In 2008, Build IT International’s technical supervisor, Malcolm Alcock led a technical support mission to Malawi to review a major school building programme with the Malawian Ministry of Education. The team assessed various technical issues, made recommendations and provided in situ training for local staff.
Build IT International undertook a consultancy exercise to review 10 years of SHA’s infrastructure programme in Ethiopia in summer 2009.
