Makangwe school is a community school just south of Lusaka. Over 270 pupils are taught in a single classroom block, and although the school is supported by ZOCS (Zambian Open Community Schools) it receives very little government help, and no government funded teachers. However it is a thriving school with a dynamic community leadership. In Sept 2009 Build IT International agreed to build a 2 classroom block and a new teachers house 

Location:  Makangwe, South of Lusaka

Description:  Two new classrooms for community school and new teacher’s house

Building:  To be completed by the end of 2010, ready for the new school year in Jan 2011

Training:  Up to 15 workers will be trained on the project

Funder:  Trusts and Foundations and Build IT International Supporters

Good progress is being made at Chainda and Makangwe where trainees have been selected and training is underway.
