From one project in 2007 to four large and three smaller projects in 2009, Build IT International has now established itself as an effective development organisation in Zambia. We have completed seven major school building projects in Zambia that have significantly expanded and improved facilities at five schools, directly benefiting 1,250 people and indirectly a further 2,250 or more.

These projects have allowed us to develop an effective on-the-job vocational skills training programme that has given 40 unskilled men and women certified qualifications in basic building skills and the chance to earn a better living and a further 16 people have also been trained in block and tile making.
Due to our use of sustainable technologies we have been able to promote an awareness of the benefits of a more sustainable approach to building and trialled innovative designs in sanitation, school class-rooms and low-cost housing.
Our completed projects are:
- St Agness – 2 classroom school, teachers house, latrines, for 400 children
- Mikumbila – 2 classroom school with office) for 250 children
- Kawama – 2 classrooms, community resource centre and office
- Fiwila Phase 1 – completion of Secondary School – 3 – classroom block
- Fiwlia Phase 2 – completion of a 46 bed dormitory
- Shantumbu – classroom renovation & teacher’s house
- Butempa – 2 new classrooms for community school and office block
