Butempa School handed over to the community

UPDATE JUNE 2009

With all finishing work completed, the magnificent new classrooms were handed over to the local community in the presence of the Provincial Education Officer, Mr Ngoma, from the Ministry of Education.

The headmaster of Fiwila school, Mr Lengwe, told the 200 people present:

Build IT International and the donors in the UK, please do not get tired of receiving request from us, there is a lot more to do!

And to the children, this school is yours, make sure you attend throughout the week.

Zambia School Upgrade Programme

Good progress is also being made at St Agness where the new school is currently laying the ring beam in readiness to build the roof.

Plans area already advanced for new community schools at nearby Mikumbila and also Kawama, Ndola. At both projects building work should start in August 2009.
