STAFF

Andrew Jowett

Andrew Jowett was appointed Build IT International Director in January 2007.
For the past 10 years Andrew has been the Director of UK charity Harvest Help where he oversaw a six-fold increase in income. Andrew has an Msc in Land Resource Management and 18 years experience of development work in Latin America and Africa. His main interest is in community-based solutions to rural poverty. Richard Drinkwater started work as our Grant Manager in July 2008. His role is to raise funds for our work primarily from grant making trusts and foundations in the UK. If you have any connections with grant makers that might be interested in our work please get in touch with him. Email Richard.

Victoria Crook works on our Fundraising and Communications. She joined Build IT in March 2010 from children’s charity Barnardo’s, where she worked as Corporate Relationship Manager for the last three years. Email Victoria.

John Hindson

 

John Hindson FCMA, BA(Hons), is our part-time Financial Controller. He joined us in May 2008 following a successful career in the commercial sector. Email John.




Charity Lubingo

Charity Lubingo works as our Zambia Representative. Her background is in rural development and community participation. As well as having a great name she is a committed, dynamic person with ambitious plans for our Zambia programme. Email Charity.

We are also indebted to Jojo Stephens who is generously assisting our fund-raising efforts in the UK.

TRUSTEES

Sue Lucas (Chair) has worked in the field of HIV and development since the mid 1980s with NGOs, faith based organisations and UN agencies. She is currently working as an independent consultant, with a particular interest in community development.

Peter Caldwell Chartered Surveyor and recently retired Managing Director, Mostyn Estates Limited, North Wales. Peter has lived and worked in Zambia and has been involved with development work through charities such as Tear Fund (North Wales representative) for many years.

Sir Ross Cranston, R.S.A. High Court Judge, Queen’s Bench Division since October 2007, Ross was previously the Centennial Professor of Law at the LSE, a barrister a Labour MP (Dudley North 1997-2005) and Solicitor-General (1998-2001). As well as publishing on commercial and other legal areas he has held consultancies to advise on various countries’ commercial, banking and securities laws.

Pat Conaty
Pat joined the board on 2 October 2009. She is an experienced organisational and leadership development consultant with substantial HR management and international experience including 10 years working with the British Council. Pat has already facilitated a recent strategy workshop for us and as we continue to grow, her expertise will be invaluable.
